Eric Kildow

Eric G. Kildow, 79, of Roseville, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home at 7:36 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Born in Zanesville on October 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Odin “Odie” Ray Kildow and Helen Elizabeth Culp Kildow. A graduate of Roseville High School, Eric was an athlete known for his remarkable speed on the baseball diamond. His reputation as a constant base running threat earned him the nickname “Izzy” short for “Is he going to steal second?” A legacy cemented in 2012 by his induction into the Perry County Baseball Hall of Fame.
Eric was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roseville. The church held a sacred place in his heart; it was there, on March 16, 1973, that he was united in marriage to Judith Ann Long by Pastor Russell Snyder. On this date a devoted life together began, spanning over five decades and was further blessed with the arrival of their four children.
As a dedicated public servant, Eric served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and his community as a member of the Roseville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also the Director on the Board of the Perry County Metropolitan Housing Authority. Professionally, Eric acted as the Deputy Director for the Muskingum County Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA), which handles child support in the Zanesville area. In his free time, Eric could often be found on the water with a fishing pole in hand, on the greens perfecting his golf game, or enjoying the company of his vast array of friends and family.
Eric held a special place in his heart for Dr. Charles Hawkins and Mrs. Mindy Havens, whose heroic CPR efforts restored him to this earth in 2007. Given the grace of a second chance, he made every moment count.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Judy Long Kildow; his four children, Erika (Jeremy) Reeves, Kristen (Mike) Fasnacht, Kurt (Brittainy) Kildow, Kyle (Heather) Kildow; and his grandchildren, Jordan (Sadie) Reeves, Arden Kildow, Gage Kildow, Brody Fasnacht and Harper Fasnacht. He is also survived by his niece, Mary Pat (Rick) Gasner, and a loving extended family.
In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his sister, Kristine Miller.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roseville, with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial with military honors will conclude at Rose Hill Cemetery in Roseville, Ohio.
