Animal Shelter Society Announces Two Fun Events to Support Local Animals

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society has two exciting events coming up that gives the community a fun way to support local animals in need.
The Animal Shelter Society is inviting the public to its “Feral Felines, Ladies Sing-Along Brunch” on Saturday, February 21st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tiny Tap will host the 21 and up event at 1944 Ridge Road, where guests can enjoy brunch food, mimosas, and a full bar while singing along to their favorite songs. A $15 donation gets you in the door.
“It’s just amazing. I just cannot believe the way this is taking off. It’s going to be fun. It’s 21 and over. We want the moms, the aunts, the grandmas to come in and have a good time. Let your hair down and sing. It’s just going to be a great time.” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director, April Gibson said.
The fun continues just a couple weeks later with the 10th annual “Yappy Hour” on Thursday March 5th. This year’s event will be held at the Zanesville Country Club, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Both events serve as important fundraisers to help provide food, shelter, and care for animals waiting for their forever homes.
“We’re a 100% nonprofit. To our knowledge, as much as we’ve checked around, we are the biggest 100% nonprofit employer at 23 staff members. That’s what it takes. We have over 100 animals to take care of. So that’s what it takes. That’s what Yappy Hour is all about, to bring those funds in so we can care for these animals when someone either couldn’t or wouldn’t, and we are.” Gibson said.
The shelter also has straw available for anyone who needs help keeping outdoor pets warm during the winter months.
