John Glenn Football Star Metzger Signs Letter of Intent with Division II Tiffin

NEW CONCORD, OH – After a high school career with over 2100 yards and 31 touchdowns, a soon to be former Muskie is officially becoming a dragon.

All-Muskingum Valley League running back Reese Metzger put pen to paper on Tuesday, signing his letter of intent to continue his football career with Tiffin University.

“It’s a blessing, it’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was five years old” says Metzger. “Now that I’m actually going to be able to do that, it’s just surreal, I can’t even believe it.”

Metzger had other offers on the table, including one from Division I school Central Michigan, but opted to attend a school one division lower and a little closer to home.

He continued: “At the end of the day, it’s not the letter beside the university. It’s the people and the atmosphere that you’re going to be at for the next four years.”

After leading his team in touchdowns and all-purpose yards as a senior, Metzger is ready to show his talent at the next level.

“I’m ready to get there right now, show what I can do out there. But I’ll just take it as it comes, start this summer, and show them what I can do.”

Metzger joins a program which finished fourth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) in 2025, and has a winning record every year since 2014.
