Betty Larrick

Betty E. Larrick, 78, of Kimbolton, Ohio, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Grant Medical Hospital in Columbus.
She was born October 8, 1947 in Quaker City, Ohio, Betty resided in Kimbolton, Ohio — a place she and her family built into a home and where she found comfort in familiar routines and quiet moments.
Betty, lovingly known as Grandma Betty, passed away surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and courage.
She was a funny, kind, and graceful woman who never hesitated to share her blunt — but always humorous — opinions once she felt comfortable. Betty had a playful spirit and was well known for making silly faces whenever someone tried to take her picture. She brought lightness into everyday moments and joy into the lives of those around her.
Calm in the midst of any storm, Betty was the person people turned to for peace and reassurance. She didn’t have patience for much “bullcrap,” as she liked to call it, but she was always the first to listen. She offered support wholeheartedly. She had a way of making people feel heard and valued. Grandma Betty took everyone under her wing and was a mother and grandmother to many.
Betty enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching and feeding her birds — especially the hummingbirds — doing puzzles, reading Amish romance novels, and settling in to watch one of her favorite westerns, Gunsmoke. Betty loved nothing more than her home, which she arguably considered her favorite place in the world.
She had a sweet tooth and a love for comfort foods. Some of Betty’s favorites included Queen Anne’s milk chocolate cherries, peaches with sugar and milk, circus peanuts, cornmeal hash, fair fries with salt and vinegar, buttered tomato sandwiches with salt and pepper, banana Laffy Taffy, Wally’s pizza, and fried green tomatoes and green beans. When it came to ice cream, she always chose buttered pecan.
Betty was known for her wit, often saying, “If your nose is itching, someone’s coming to see you.”
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viva Gallagher Morris; her siblings James Morris, Edson Roe, Blanche Morris (James) Bishop, Mildred Morris (Donald) McCort, Herman (Marge) Morris, Helen Morris Powell, Harry (Sharon) Morris, and Shirley Morris (Harold) Ashe; her husband, Charles Larrick; her son, Charles “Chuck” Larrick Jr.; and her beloved grandson, Joshua “Josh” Puckett; in-laws, Wib Cowgill, Penny Larrick, Gene Camp.
She was a proud mother to Teresa Lyons and Jeannine Larrick and an adoring grandmother to Jessica Campbell, Michael Lyons, Travis Larrick, Matthew (Chelsea) Lyons, Marcus Lyons, Wesley Hunter, Kaitlynn Hunter, and Cody Juergens. Her heart grew even larger as a great-grandmother to Austin, Abigail, Kara, Ryan, Riley, Trinity, Brayden, Joslynn, Aubree, Alexis, Aiden, Teagan, Jacob, Braelynn, Taylon, Tessa, McKenna, Josiah, and Leighlia; in-laws, George (Linda) Larrick, Mary Cowgill, Don Larrick, Richard Larrick, Ruth Camp; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them and for those around her was endless.
Betty lived by simple but powerful words: “If there is a will, there is a way,” and “Can’t isn’t a word.” These sayings reflected how she lived her life — with determination, resilience, and quiet strength.
Above all else, Betty was proud of the family and the family home she built and nurtured. Her light, her laughter, and her steady presence will be deeply missed, but her love and guidance will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Grandma Betty will be forever loved and never forgotten, she is now with her family in heaven.
