Runners Invited to First Y-Bridge Irish Dash

ZANESVILLE, OH – If the nice weather we’ve been having is making you want to get out of the house, Visit Zanesville has the perfect event.

On Saturday, March 14th, beginning at 10AM, will be the very first Y-Bridge Irish Dash 5K and 1 mile run.

Jordin Harmer, the Manager of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, said they’re hosting the Irish Dash because they were unable to have the Storybook Christmas 5K back in December.

“We’re very excited! This is the first one we’ve done and we hope to continue year after year and make this an annual thing.” Harmer said. “We’re very appreciative of all of our partners and sponsors at the event, without them, it wouldn’t be possible.”

Racers will start in front of Muddy Misers, located at 112 Muskingum Ave, continue up Dug Road and around West Main Street. They’ll then head across Y-Bridge before circling back to Muddy Misers; for those participating in the 5K, they will run that course twice.

The Proceeds from the Y-Bridge Irish Dash will head back into the Events Fund to help to bring in more tourism throughout the year.

Harmer also talked about an event happening down at the ZAAP Gallery that will coincide with the Race.

“So the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project, they are also having some festivities around our Race.” Harmer said. “So that’ll be at their location on Mina St. in downtown Zanesville and they will have lots of different events, crafts, artists there, music, lots of things for the public to enjoy before or after the race.”

You can sign up for the Y-Bridge Irish Dash by calling the CVB or you can register the morning of the race.
