Tri-Valley School District is on lockdown at all schools

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – UPDATED 11:33 A.M. – The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on Facebook at 11:20 a.m. Sheriff Matt Lutz said after the investigation, they are confident that there is no credible threat. It is the sheriff’s belief that this was a swatting incident where someone calls in a false threat or emergency to create a significant law enforcement response for disruptive purposes.
Lutz said a deputy will remain at every building in the Tri-Valley District for the remainder of the school day and they do not feel that there are any active threats at this time
UPDATED 10:54 A.M. – Tri-Valley Schools Superintendent Kirk Henderson posted an update on the districts website.
“Due to an anonymous threat made toward Tri-Valley Middle School, the entire school district was put on lockdown as a precautionary measure. We are currently collaborating with the Muskingum County Sheriff department, and law enforcement is onsite at every school building. Parents should not report to schools at this time. Updates will be provided when more information is available,” said Henderson in the update.
ORIGINAL 10:48 A.M. – The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene at the buildings in the Tri-Valley School District, according to their Facebook post. There was an anonymous threat called in however it is unfounded at this time and there is no threat at this time. The Sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate.
