BBB warns of possible Door to Door Scams

Zanesville, Ohio- As we head into spring the Better Business Bureau wants to warn consumers on door to door sales.
President of BBB of Central Ohio, Kip Morse, explains its best to try to investigate the legitimacy of the salesman.
“We encourage people to find out who the company is, find out who they are representing, find out if they are properly licensed, do they have any kind of information that they can provide you. Find out a little about more about them in terms of whether they have any written contracts. peek out and see what kind of car they are driving, where’s it from, is it from in state, out of state, really get an idea of who you are dealing with.”
Morse notes after the sale if anything seems suspicious it’s not too late to cancel the order.
“There is a three-day cooling off period and so within that three days if you decide hey wait a minute this is not what I thought it was. I read the contract, I don’t need this service, then you can go ahead and put in writing to that company and then they have to refund that money that you put up front within three days.”
Morse also warns to never give out personal information or cash up front.
