ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan Counties is a local nonprofit that manages several programs, which benefit many residents throughout the community.

CEO Tracey Ballas shared many of the organization’s objectives and announced the addition of Donna Cole to the Board of Directors.

“The mission of the United Way of Muskingum Perry and Morgan Counties is to help create healthier communities, youth opportunities, financial stability and community resilience,” Ballas said. “And it’s a very vital role in our three county area. But we can’t do it without the support of really wonderful community leaders, who are on our board of directors. So we are very delighted to be welcoming Donna Cole.”

The local nonprofit is always looking for community leaders who are passionate about the community and can offer their expertise in achieving the organizational objectives and Cole is no stranger to the United Way.

“Very early in my social work career, I actually worked for the United Way of Franklin County,” Cole said. “So I developed a real heart for the mission of what they do. Learned how everything worked and saw it really do good things in the community. Later, my husband became a board member of the national United Way of America board. So for 7 years, I got to see how United Way works all over the country.”

Cole recently retired from Muskingum County Children Services and is looking forward to seeking new opportunities that will enhance the lives and culture of the community.
