Genesis Health Care System Offers Volunteer Opportunities as Spring Arrives

ZANESVILLE, OH – With the weather beginning to warm up, Genesis Health Care System has the perfect opportunity if you’re looking to get out of the house.

Genesis has volunteer opportunities for adults and teens at their Coshocton as well as the Zanesville Campus.

“It stems from everything from working in the giftshop, which is a huge and a very, very busy place.” Diane Jones, a current Volunteer with Genesis, said. “To helping in the emergency room, to helping in the surgery lounge, working at the front desk, many many opportunities.”

One of the main things Genesis Volunteers help with are the fundraiser efforts to help get some vital equipment into the hospital as well as to contribute to their Hospice Campaign.

Jones also took the time to talk about what being a volunteer at Genesis means to her.

“So much, I spent 48 years in education and after that I thought, what am I going to do? How am I going to give back?” Jones said. “Because education is certainly a giving career, and so a friend of mine said, why don’t you try volunteering at the hospital? And so I’ve done it for two years, but you go in thinking I’m going to give, give, give, and you do that but yet you get so much more back.”
