‘Quinn Family Bash’ celebrating recovery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 18 Annual ‘Quinn Family Bash’ is taking place this Friday May 19, 2017.
According to Paul Quinn the Executive Director for National Alliance on Mental Illness the Quinn family continues to celebrate recovery whether it’s from mental illness or addiction along with people who are connected to N.A.M.I. in Coshocton, Guernsey, Muskingum, Morgan, Noble, and Perry Counties.
“Historically in this country its symptom management and there’s very little offer to individuals who are going through their recovery in terms of quality of life,” Quinn said. “So this is one of the things that the Quinn family likes to offer to those who are on their recovery path to just have some fun for once.”
There will be over 200 family members, caregivers, distinguished guests, and friends of mental health. Quinn said singing on stage and seeing those who struggle to even get out of bed every day now dancing and laughing is the best feeling in the world.
“The feeling of joy that these people are able to experience that they don’t normally get on a daily basis,” said Quinn. “Many of us we get out and see a lot of live music, but person’s with a serious brain disorder. They don’t get out to see live music. So this is a pretty big deal for them to get out and see a concert.”
The ‘Quinn Family Bash’ will be held at the Muskingum County Welcome Center from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Quinn said there will be live music, dancing, prizes, snacks, and refreshments available. For more information go to the ‘Quinn Family Singers’ Facebook page.
