MCCONELSVILLE, OH – A name familiar to local area basketball fans, Drew Rackley is the new boys basketball coach at Morgan High School, as announced on social media.

Known for his playing days at John Glenn, he helped lead the Muskies to that memorable state championship in 2016, before moving on to play for North Carolina-Asheville and Charleston at the collegiate level. Rackley spent the 2025-2026 season as an assistant on the Raiders bench under former coach Joseph Marcinko, helping lead a team that managed just five wins.

Now under his watch, Rackley already has lofty expectations for the Raiders this upcoming season.

“Short term, I want us to win 12 games or more and have a team GPA over 3.0” says Rackley. “Long term, I want Morgan basketball to develop a culture of excellence both on and off the floor, one that leads to success, regardless of talent or skill level.”

He has his eyes on leading Morgan to its first winning season in over half a decade, and his coaching style may lend itself to future success.

Rackley adds, “I’m easy to talk to and approachable, but I’ll also be tough on players and hold them accountable when needed. Everyone will be held to the same standard.”

A coach that knows the Muskingum Valley League inside and out, Drew Rackley hopes to lead the Morgan boys basketball team to the top of the league.
