Licking County holds off Muskingum Valley in rainy game

DUNCAN FALLS, Ohio – For the first time in three years Licking County beat Muskingum Valley in the annual Licking County-Muskingum Valley All-Star Football Game.
Both teams had to play in a steady rain all game long at Sam Hatfield Stadium. At half time both teams we’re tied at seven. But Licking County would win the turnover battle and scored a touchdown and a field goal in the second half to win 17-7. Heath’s Tim Ward was coaching the Licking County All-Stars and said it means a lot to get win over their Muskingum Valley rival.
“It feels great. We talked about [the rivalry] a lot and them being up two games. Just for all the kids in the county to represent and get the ‘W’ was awesome,” Ward said.
Heath quarterback Aaron Latiolais was the Licking County MVP. Philo’s Kolt Moore won the MVP for Muskingum Valley. Muskingum Valley now leads the all time series 19-17.
