Perry County drug indictments

PERRY COUNTY, Ohio – The Perry County Sheriff’s Office announced the indictment of nineteen people for felony drug offenses.
The Perry County Grand Jury handed down the indictments of 19 people on Wednesday, June 21st, that were involved in the trafficking and distribution and/or manufacturing of illegal drugs throughout Perry County.
Of the nineteen, eighteen of them were originally arrested during Operation Buzz Kill in May.
The only defendant not involved in buzz kill was 34-year-old, Charles Huff.

Huff was indicted on 1 count of Illegal Manufacturing of Methamphetamine with a juvenile specification, a felony of the first degree. 1 count of Illegal Assembly of Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine with a juvenile specification, a felony of the second degree. 1 count of Aggravated Possession of 94 grams of methamphetamine, a felony of the second degree. And 1 count of Endangering Children, a felony of the first degree.
Huff was stopped on April 14th in New Lexington. A drug detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs inside of his vehicle. After searching, the officer located three active meth labs inside of the vehicle. One of the labs was concealed under Huff’s two-year-old son’s car seat.
This discovery lead to the evacuation of a local bar and hospitalization of Huff’s child.
He remains in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.
