ZANESVILLE, OH – Tools for School is returning for another year, and organizers are asking the community to help local students start the school year prepared.

Tools for School provides school supplies to students across the area, helping ease the financial burden on families before classes begin. Donations of notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, and other classroom essentials are needed.

“Tools for School is a committee through Eastside Community Ministry that works on getting school supplies and backpacks ready for area students who need a little extra help getting ready for the school year.” Tools for School Co-chair and 5th Grade Teacher, Caitlynn Boothe said.

One of the biggest opportunities to donate is coming up next month, The annual Stuff the Bus event will take place on July 18th at the Maple Avenue Walmart in Zanesville. Volunteers will be on hand passing out school supply lists and collecting donations throughout the day.

“We are so fortunate for our community partners that continue to donate and support our program year after year. They continue to volunteer and help us pack bookbags, and as a teacher in the community seeing the needs of students and knowing that we are helping them to come prepared for the first day of school is really special.” Boothe said.
