Shelby Romine

Shelby Jean Romine 89 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at 11:03pm September 5, 2026, at her home. Shelby was born on December 10,1936 to Wilbur (Brother) Goins and Desire (Fitch) Goins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband’s Melvin (Louie) Hill Sr. and Robert (Bob) Romine, along with son in law Herbie Newman Sr. and grandson Little Herbie Newman Jr.

Shelby leaves to cherish in her memory her children Jan Newman, Pamela Hill, Buck Hill, Larry (Nancy Amende) Hill, Alan (Pam)Hill, Tonya(Jimmy Clifford) Johnson, Scott (Mindi) Romine and Lanny Romine.

She also leaves behind 17 grandkids, 18 great grandkids, a sister Shirley (Bobby)Ward, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friends, Amanda Carrel, Jerry Moore and Maxine Martin.

Shelby devoted her life to her family and extended family. Everyone knew her house was a place to create memories. She was a loving person to anyone who crossed her path. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, watching her soaps, reading the newspaper daily and playing in the Hawkeye Girls City League softball team.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the love that she gave, the smile on her face, along with the memories that she created. We also would like to thank the caring staff of hospice for the excellent care that was given to our mom.

You may call on the family on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 6pm until 8pm for visitation. Cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
