Little Muskies fall to East Liverpool 1-0

NEW CONCORD, OHIO — It took almost 110 minutes to settle the match-up  between John Glenn and East Liverpool this evening, but in the end, the Potters found a winner with just over a minute to play in the second extra period to advance in the boys state soccer tournament.

Both teams created chances throughout the game, especially in the second half and extra periods. John Glenn’s Sam Kumler had multiple efforts on goal, but was unable to find a breakthrough for the Little Muskies.

East Liverpool’s Josh Ricktenwald, who looked like the most dangerous player all night, scored the game winning goal for the Potters with just 1:13 left to play before penalty kicks.

East Liverpool will face the Morgan Raiders in McConnelsville on Saturday afternoon.
