Golfers tee up support for The Carr Center programs
ZANESVILLE, OH- Early morning rain didn’t keep golfers from showing up for The Carr Center. Their support will help fund programs serving children, adults with disabilities, and older adults in Zanesville.
Eighteen teams took part in the Annual Carr Center Golf Outing at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville, more than organizers have seen in recent years.
“Any funds raised for this event will go right back into our programs, this includes Adult Day, where we serve our seniors, our youth programs where we serve kiddos with speech delays, and all the little programs in between, Safety Town, Kinder Camp, everything benefits from this fundraiser ,” said The Carr Center Executive Director Madelyn Tyo.
The center provides therapeutic, educational, and support services to people of different ages and abilities.
Tyo says community fundraisers like the golf outing help make that work possible, and seeing people continue to show up means a lot.
“The Carr Center and all of the programs that we operate, it would not be possible to do it without this community, they really come together for every fundraiser and help us out, and it is humbling and awesome every time you see it,” said Tyo.
The outing included lunch, 50/50 raffles, and prizes for the top three teams. Organizers plan to bring golfers back next year to continue supporting those programs.
