Authorities investigate death of Coshocton man

COSHOCTON, Ohio – Authorities in Coshocton County are investigating the death of an elderly man.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. authorities  received a call in reference to an elderly man having no recent contact with his family.

Deputies were called to his home in the 800 block of South 2nd Street in Coshocton to check on his well-being.

Authorities said  following a search around the home they discovered 83-year-old Larry Gingrich deceased in the river directly behind his residence.

Authorities said foul play is not suspected in his death, however,  the official cause of death is still under investigation.
