Deer Gun Season Opens

An extremely popular activity for sportsmen and women opens Monday statewide.

Ohio’s White-Tailed Deer Season opens Monday thirty minutes before Sunrise and will end thirty minutes after sunset.

The season runs from Monday until Sunday, December 3. Another hunting weekend will take place on December 16-17.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said hunting remains the most effective management tool for maintaining Ohio’s Healthy Deer population.

The statewide bag limit is six deer and hunters may only harvest one buck in Ohio.

The state ranks fifth nationally in resident hunters and 11th in the number of jobs associated with hunting-related industries.

Hunting has a more than $853m economic impact in Ohio through the sale of equipment, fuel, food, lodging and more according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
