Ceramics remain winless in MVL play, fall at Sheridan

THORNVILLE, Ohio — The Ceramics held a six-point lead after the first quarter, but it wasn’t enough as the Generals battled back in Sheridan’s 62-55 win over Crooksville on Friday night.

Crooksville came into Friday night’s match-up still winless in MVL play, but showed from the opening-tip that it wasn’t going to be an easy 36-minutes for the Generals. The Ceramics, lead by Eric Taylor and Brock White lead 14-8 after one quarter.

However the Generals battled back in the second quarter to tie the game at 24 heading into the locker rooms, before ultimately pulling away in the second-half for the seven-point victory.

Taylor scored 16 points and White added 14 for the Ceramics.

Ethan Heller lead Sheridan with 22 points, with Grant Heileman adding 13 points and nine rebounds, while Dylan Emmert chipped in 10.

Next up, Sheridan hosts Tri-Valley on Tuesday night. Crooksville welcomes in Philo.
