Meet Brumby the Tabby Kitten

A cute tabby kitten has called the Animal Shelter Society home for just a few weeks, but she’s now ready for her next adventure.
Brumby is about three months old and came to the shelter as a stray. She’s a very people oriented kitten, who like to be held and gets along with other animals.
The shelter’s executive director said that it’s important to be patient with new pets, especially strays because they aren’t used to routine.
“They aren’t used to having a normal family, a normal setting so be patient with them, absolutely be patient,” explained Executive Director Jody Murray. “Give them some time and with a little bit of time and love they will figure out what your expectations are and in return they’ll give it right back to you. They’ll give a lot of time and love right back to you.
Murray said a kitten like Brumby should adapt to her new home within a week or two.
“Kittens adapt really quickly. The main thing for kittens is making sure their liter box is accessible for them, food and water things like that and they generally just blend right in,” said Murray.
Brumby has had her surgery and all her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $70. Murray said anyone adopting a dog or cat before the end of the month will receive a free bag of food from the shelter.
