Muskingum Rec. Center holds a summer fitness challenge
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – People don’t like feeling a sun burn, but now they’re signing up to feel the summer burn.
Muskingum Recreation Center is hosting an eight week Summer Burn individual fitness challenge. Event and Program manager Becky Weir said this is a challenge based on a person’s points accumulated by the end of the program.
“So based on the whole point system rather than just weight loss only,” Weir said. “Then the person that has the most points accumulated, we’ll give a male prize and a female prize. Cash and that will be determined by the number of participants in the program.”
Group class participation, weekly challenge completed, gym check-in, and pounds lost gives each person points. Weir said the cash prize will be dependent on how many people sign up for the challenge.
“For our members of course if would only be $10.00 to participate,” Weir explained. “Non members are $100.00. You get the two month membership and you get all the amenities, the kids corner, the group classes, we have extra classes up on the fitness floor with our exercise specialists. Just a motivational time to get in shape for summer.
Registration for the Summer Burn challenge is today through April 23rd and the challenge will take place April 30th through June 2nd. For more information contact the Muskingum Recreation Center at (740) 454-4767 and ask for Mark Paxton or Derek Bennett.
