The Final Bet on Baylee Fundraiser

ROSEVILLE, Ohio- A local mom has been striving to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Mitochondrial Disease.

For the last fourteen years The “Bet on Baylee,” fundraiser has helped raise awareness and generate research funding for The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.

“Bet on Baylee I think is probably the typical patient advocacy event that we work with across The United States. You have a mother and you have a daughter that needs care and the mother is doing everything she can to help her daughter. This is the types of events that are really going to help us get the treatments and cures because not only is it gathering the community to create awareness and spread the word but it’s also garnering very necessary funds that we put towards research,” said C.E.O of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, Charles Mohan.

With Saturday serving as the final “Bet on Baylee,” fundraiser, Mom Jody Thompson hopes to go out with a bang by raising $100,000 for The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.

“When we started this event it was the best thing was to raise awareness which that’s our main objective, always. The second thing is to raise money and our family after fourteen years we’re literally $9,100 away from $100,000 which I’m hoping to achieve and walk away making this bold bold statement for The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation,” said Thompson.
