Early Voting Begins Tuesday

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Muskingum County Board of Elections has important information for voters ahead of the upcoming primary election.

Voting registration ends Monday and early voting begins Tuesday, April 10. Anyone interested in voting can head to the Board of Elections office to cast their vote.

“Early voting starts at 8:00 o’clock and we’ll be open from 8 to 5 for the next couple to three weeks. And then the last week of voting we’ll be open from 8 to 7,” said Thompson. “Voters are welcome to come in here to vote. They can also request an absentee ballot. They come in and fill out an application and get an absentee ballot sent to them.”

Early voting applications can also be found online. Voters will face many local and statewide races on the ballot including races for the Governor primary, County Commissioner, and County Auditor. The election will take place on May 8th.

“This election will have a special U.S. Congressional District race – District 12. So voters will be voting on a candidate to fill the unexpired term and they will take office in August at the August election,” said Thompson. “And they’ll also be voting on a 12th District candidate to fill the full term which will begin in January.”
