County Commissioners open bids for painting the courthouse
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The courthouse in downtown Zanesville will soon be repainted.
County Commissioners held a bid opening today where they received two bids for the painting of the courthouse.
“One bid received was $198,000 and the other bid was $172,000,” said Brian Addis architect Jeremy Davis. “It includes repainting of the roof structure from the mansard roof to the peak of the building and some caulking repairs that will aid in the longevity of the building.”
Davis said the next step will be to review the lowest bid given to the commissioners and make sure everything is included in the cost given. The Commissioners also met with Bob Snavely from Palmer Energy to discuss electric aggregation.
“Basically what that is, government aggregation is the coming together of small businesses and residents to get a discount on the electric generation portion of their bill,” said Snavely. “We look at an annual savings per household of around a $100.”
Roseville, South Zanesville, and Springfield township will be able to vote on this program in May. For more information, call the Village of South Zanesville office at (740) 453-3113.
