Cake Auction kicks off

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Community businesses, organizations, clubs, and schools delivered their cakes throughout April 25, 2018 for The Carr Center’s Cake Auction.

The 32nd Annual Cake Auction has officially kicked off by holding the “Peoples Choice Awards” from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. So people may go to the Colony Square Mall look at 388 cake entries and vote on their favorite.

“Also we have the ‘Be True to your School’ cake baker contest and that is cakes that are submitted by area high schools and they will have their own separate judging,” Hosler announced. “We’re looking for the most creatively inspired cake. So there is a big traveling trophy there that goes with that and John Glenn High School took that home last year. They’re hoping to take it home again this year, we’ll see what comes in.”

April 26, 2018 starting 8:15 A.M. the cake auction will start. Hosler said if anyone’s interested in bidding and can’t attend the auction may try their new online services.

“You can actually put an online form on our website,” Hosler explained. “Which is called ‘Secure a Bid’ and that is tabbed under the cake auction tab and you can make that bid there up to two hours prior to when the item goes off.”

For a list of all the cakes and their incentives go to the Carr Center’s website.
