Two Charged in Perry County Drug Bust

 The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says two area residents have been indicted on drug charges. Sheriff William Barker says last Wednesday 33-year-old Carie C. Woods and her boyfriend 18-year-old David E. Berry, both of New Lexington, were indicted by a Grand Jury on multiple felony charges relating to the distribution of Methamphetamine in the New Lexington area. Barker says the charges on Berry are related to the distribution of methamphetamine to a juvenile. On March 23rd the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 405 North Main Street in New Lexington. Sheriff Barker says during a search of the home, bulk quantities of methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, US currency and firearms were located and seized. Barker says Berry pled not guilty and is being held on a $50,000 bond. Woods is being held without bond pending her arraignment on May 1st. Both are in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail.
