Students Can Bowl For Scholarship Money

With kids headed back to school, many families are looking for more scholarships. Sunrise Bowl is partnering with the Muskingum County Community Foundation to offer local students scholarship money. Students K-12 can enter the bowling and Wii bowling tournament to win up to $500 in scholarship money. There is an entry fee of $5 per student.

“The way they are doing the entries for this you just show up that day, but I know they have been promoting it throughout the summer with their summer bowling as students come in with the little card for the bowling program they have been promoting it. So we have hopes for a good turnout,” says Jamie Hoover the Director of Communications for Muskingum County Community Foundation.

The tournament marks the end of the Sunrise Bowl Summer Fun Program. The program provided 24,000 local students with passes to bowl two games each day for free. Hoover hopes this tournament will continue in the future.

“This is the first time they have done the event and they hope to from year to year to raise money for a local scholarship fund and keep giving scholarships out to students,” tells Hoover.

The tournament is September 5th-7th, from 10am-2pm each day.
