Woman Owns Piece of History
A local woman is now the proud owner of a piece of history.
Jane Church of Zanesville, owns an original copy of the Honolulu Star Bulletin from December 7th, 1941, the day of the Pearl Harbor bombings. Since copies of the paper are so rare, she wants to share this piece of history with the community.
"I would like to give the veterans a copy of it to make a copy so they can have it in memory of my uncle Andrew that was killed at Pearl Harbor," says Elva "Jane" Church.
Jane was one year old when her uncle, Andrew Albin, died on the USS Arizona during the bombing.
"I think it was meant to be, I really do. I think the paper was meant for him to find to send to me," says Church.
Jane says her son, Alan, found the paper at his work as he was cleaning out old papers and sent it to her. Tomorrow marks the 68th anniversary of the bombing.
