Former U.S. Senator visits Zanesville

Former United States Senator, Mike Dewine, stopped by Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl here in Zanesville this morning to meet with local government officials.

Dewine, a Republican, is running for Attorney General. He is campaigning to help boost the economy, work on crime prevention, and to also fight political corruption at all government levels.

"I run for Attorney General because I believe the the Attorney General really can help with job creation in the state, I think frankly our government is anti-jobs, anti-business, and I think thats wrong."

He realizes there are a lot of issues to address, but he is confident in his plans to help make a positive change.

"But we also want to work with business because we know jobs are so very very important to the state and we don’t want to run business out. We don’t want to run jobs out of the county or out of the state," said Dewine.

Dewine will face Democrat Incumbent Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray in the fall general election.
