Gaining Broadband Access
Nearly 1,400 homes in Appalachia Ohio will soon trade in their dial-up service for broadband access.
18th District US Congressman Zack Space says a USDA grant of more than $4 million has been awarded for that project. It’s expected to create or retain 20 jobs in Morgan, Athens, and Hocking counties. The local company, Nelsonville TV Cable Incorporated has been assigned to construct a broadband cable network. Space says this development will have a huge economic impact on local residents and businesses.
Broadband access has been one of four main issues Space’s Renew Ohio campaign has focused on.
