Bike Giveaway at Muskingum County Speedway
Some area kids are hitting the pavement with a brand new set of wheels.
About 100 bikes were given away at the Muskingum County Speedway’s 20th annual McDonald’s Kids’ Night.
"Every kid likes to get a new bike. With the economy and stuff, a lot of people can’t afford it, " says track manager, Brenda Moran.
Moran says the expression on each child’s face is priceless.
"They’re so excited. It’s just like Christmas morning to the ones that win, " says Moran.
The event continues to be a popular one with just under 2,000 people registering to win. All the bikes are donated by area sponsors. Since 2003, more than 1,500 kids have gotten the chance to take a new bike home.
