2010 Junior Fair Queen Named

2009 Junior Fair Queen, Alaina Kirkbride, is passing her title to another young woman.

Marie McGinnis was named and will represent the Muskingum County Fair this year.

"It’s just something-ever since I was little-I looked up to the girls, who it was. So, I’m just really happy. It definitely hasn’t kicked in yet, " says McGinnis.

The fair has always played a part in McGinnis’ life, especially with her involvement in 4-H.

"I credit 4-H for teaching me so many different things, just from good responsibility to good work ethic. It’s just something i believe every parent should get their kids into, " says McGinnis.

While McGinnis plans to show her horses and pigs at the fair, she is also mentally preparing herself for a busy week full of public appearances. She says it’s a great way to end her summer before heading off to college.
