Tri-Valley Bus Driver Put on Administrative Leave

The driver involved in June’s Tri-Valley bus crash that killed a six-year-old student will be put on paid administrative leave.

47-year-old Carol Oler’s leave will take effect August 23rd, just two days before the district’s official start to the academic year. The Board of Education approved the motion last week, which is cited in the August meeting’s minutes.

The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports the bus Oler was driving that morning went off the ride side of the road, struck a utility pole, and overturned. Young Kasey King was killed in the crash. The patrol took a statement from Oler, indicating another vehicle forced the bus off the roadway.

Muskingum County Prosecutor, Mike Haddox, is still reviewing the case to see if charges will be filed.
