Newark Officer Put on Administrative Duty

The Newark Police Department says an officer, who was charged with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, will be put on administrative duty.

Bobby Hartless has been assigned to the Records and Communication Unit. Police Chief Steven Sarver says the decision is indefinite, pending the outcome of this case along with an internal investigation.

Hartless is accused of hitting and kicking his 17-year-old daughter during an August 4th incident. Sarver says it isn’t the first time Hartless’ daughter has complained about her dad’s strong disciplinary actions.
