State Senator Bob Gibbs Visits Zanesville

The Muskingum County Republican Party opened it’s Zanesville headquarters on Wednesday.

State Senator Bob Gibbs of Lakeville, who is running for Ohio’s 18th Congressional District, talked about his plans for the district.

"We have to get confidence back in this economy before the private sector starts hiring again, that’s one way we can get out of this mess is people have confidence and invest in our businesses, and grow their businesses and create jobs," said Senator Bob Gibbs.

Gibbs says by cutting deficit spending, rolling back tax increases and reigning in the bureaucrats, it will send a clear signal to Washington D.C.

"Raising taxes and more spending is the absolute wrong thing to do and passive things like cap and trade and so-called health care and the financial reform bill, are creating so much uncertainty in this economy," said Gibbs.

Gibbs will face incumbent Democrat Congressman Zack Space and Constitution Party candidate Lindsey Dean Sutton in the November General Elections.
