Celebrating Seniors

One local group is celebrating seniors all next week.

September is National Senior Center month and starting Monday the Sunrise Senior Center will have all kinds of events for people to do.

"We’re putting on a special week a week long with special activities to kinda give them something new to do," Senior Center Activities Supervisor Carol Morgan said.

Morgan says they will be featuring different events each day in addition to their regular activities. They will be doing things like a style show, a diabetic expo, and line dancing. She believes especially this month it’s important to honor them and give them something fun to do.

"Hopefully this will bring some people in and see what all we do do out here and all the fun we have and get them out of their houses. If they’re are seniors out there that’s maybe not getting out and doing much, they can come out and see we are a place of activity," Morgan said.
