Wilds Executive Director Steps Down
The Wilds Animal Preserve in Muskingum County announced Friday that its Executive Director is stepping down. Evan Blumer told the Wilds board that it is time to consider a number of career alternatives. Blumer will step down from his duties effective October 1st, but will serve as an advisor to the organization for the foreseeable future. Board President Dr. Nick Baird said we are grateful to Evan for the institutional advancement achieved under his leadership. Baird said there have been significant achievements in conservation initiatives and scientific studies of the animals in our care and in the wild. A search will now be conducted for a successor, but in the interim senior staff from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will assist the current Wilds management team in the daily operations.
