Conley Competent To Stand Trial In Police Officer Shooting
A competency hearing was held in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court today for the man accused in the shooting of a Zanesville Police Officer and his police dog.
Dominick Conley has pled not guilty to 12 felony counts including assault on a peace officer, assault on a police dog, aggravated burglary, two counts of kidnapping and six counts of abduction.
He is also charged with tampering with evidence in the shooting of Officer Mike Schiele and his K-9 partner Bosco while they were trying to serve a misdemeanor warrant.
Authorities say after the shootings, Conley carjacked a woman, committed burglary and then held six people at gunpoint in the summer of 2009.
Monday Judge Mark Fleegle found Conley competent to stand trial.
