Medflight Called for Injured Construction Worker

A female worker is taken by Medflight to Riverside Hospital in Columbus after becoming injured at a Newark construction site.

ODOT says it happened around 8:30 a.m. at the 21st Street project, just north of Ohio 16.

Newark Fire Chief, Dave Decker, says Patricia Riser was operating a drill and became caught in that drill. He says she sustained a non life-threatening injury to her arm.

Riser is a construction worker with Shelly and Sands Incorporated, based in Zanesville.
