Glenn A. Starrett, 93,of Norwood Blvd, Zanesville, passed away at 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the Helen Purcell Home.
Glenn was born in Wayne Twp, in Muskingum County on December 4, 1918 to the late George H. & Mary Weaver Starrett.
He worked at the Ohio Power Plant in Philo for 33 years and retired after 5 years working at the Cardinal Operating Plant in Brilliant, Ohio
He was a member of the St John’s Lutheran Church in Philo, Ohio, a member of Anchor Lodge # 283 A & FM on Duncan Falls, Duncan Falls American Legion, post 0246 and a member of the Ohio Power Veterans Assoc. Glenn served in country during WWII in the Army serving in the E.T.O. for 23 months.
Surviving is one son Doug and Taundra Starrett of Canal Winchester. Grandchildren are Andria (Buck) Wallace, Kara (Jon) Crawford, and Alan (Patricia) Starrett. Great Grandchilren are Austin, Kayla, Brooke, Aubrey, Reese, Owen, Max, and Alex.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Herman Starrett and Harold Starrett.
Friends may call 9 to 11 am Thursday at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be at 11 Thursday with the Rev Andy Amos officiating. A light lunch and fellowship with follow the funeral at the Masonic Temple in Duncan Falls, with burial in the Crooksville Cemetery following the fellowship time.
