Robert E. Stewart (June 29, 1932 – June 11, 2016)

Robert E. Stewart, 83, of Zanesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:53 P.M. Saturday, June 11, 2016, surrounded by his family at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born June 29, 1932, in Zanesville, a son of the late Basil and Margaret Erwine Stewart. He retired from AK Steel over 30 years of service, was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ for 57 years and a U.S. Korean Army Veteran. Robert loved to travel, camp and spend time with his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Betty H. Fisher Stewart, of the home, whom he married on October 16, 1955; two daughters, Debbie Boggs and Tammy (Allen) Adams: a son, Robert (Julie Baker) Stewart all of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Boggs and Jessica Boggs, Tony (Brittany) Adams, Mitch (Robby) Grimm and Alyssa Adams, Nathan (Whitney) Stewart, Tyler Stewart and Kaitlyn Stewart; six great grandchildren, Brock, Harmonie, Annabelle, Hunter, Lexie and Aubree; and a sister, Joann (Cubby) Cubbison of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Stewart.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Mr. William Meaige officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors being presented by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29.
