Dorothy E. Schenk (March 24, 1917 – June 12, 2016)

Dorothy E. Schenk, 99 of Zanesville passed away 11:25 pm Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Oaks at Bethesda under the care of Genesis Hospice.
She was born March 24, 1917 in Muskingum County, the daughter of the late Laysel Dick and Zetta (Hibbs) Dick.
She graduated from Hopewell High School. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of Wesleyan Circle, Parsimar Sunday School Class and the Owls Club. She volunteered at Bethesda Hospital for over 25 years. A member of the Junior Bethesda League, enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center and also volunteered at Christ Table and FreeWill. Dorothy also loved quilting and crafts. She was employed by Montgomery Ward as a cashier and payroll clerk.
She is survived by her step daughter, Sheila Morgan of Texas. Grandchildren: Linda (Tim) Starrett of Zanesville, Vicki Foltz of Pataskala, Cathy (Ray) Ogden of Columbus, Cindy Hill, Norman (Salah) Morgan Jr. and Greg Morgan all of Texas. Great-Grandchildren: Kelli Williams, Kevin (Brandi Seckman) Starrett of Zanesville, Chad (Kelly) Foltz, Brad (Stephanie) Foltz, Troy Brobst, Michelle (Shane) Foster. Several special great-great grandchildren; Kiara & Kiah Williams; Hannah & Landon Castenada; Ethan & Chance Starrett; Marcus, Madisyn, Caden & Blayke Foltz; Claire, Francis, Hattie, Piper & Trey Morgan; Alex Foster; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Earl, step-daughter June Menhorn; Two sons-in-law, Norman Morgan and Gene Menhorn; two sisters Charlotte Shaw and Evelyn Ankrum; four brothers Robert, Frederick, Gabriel and Owen Dick and one great granddaughter Debra Starrett.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 pm Friday June 17th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. with funeral services at 11:00 am Saturday June 18th with Pastor Mark Chow officiating.
Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
