Yvette Newsom Dicks (September 20, 1964 – June 29, 2016)

Yvette Newsom Dicks 51, of Zanesville went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 4:47 pm, following a 6 ½ year courageous “FIGHT” with cancer. She was born Sept. 20, 1964 in Brooklyn N.Y., the daughter of Thomas (Phyllis) Newsom of Lakeland FL and Kathy Newsom of Columbus.

She is a graduate of Maysville High School class of 1982. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Yvette is survived by her husband of 33 years David Dicks of the home; three sons, Ryan Dicks, David “Christopher” (Michelle) Dicks and Bradley Dicks along with seven grandchildren, all of Zanesville; two brothers, Barry (Deanna) Newsom of Lakeland FL, Steven (Gretta) Newsom of Zanesville and a sister, Susan Newsom of Columbus; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her beloved dog Trixie.

She is preceded in death by her father in-law William “Bill” Dicks, mother in-law Barbara Dicks and a brother in-law Bryan Dicks.

A cremation was chosen and a memorial will be Sat. July 9, 2016 at the Euclid United Methodist Church, 1324 Euclid Ave. at the Fellowship Hall. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with services following with Blaine Valentine officiating. The family would like everyone to join them in a Celebration of Yvette’s life immediately following the service at the Muddy Boot Bar and Grill, 2290 Old River Rd.
