Violet Louise (Brothers) Madden, 86, of Zanesville went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2016.

She was born on March 23, 1930 in Neelysville, Ohio. She graduated from Reinersville and went on to obtain her beauty license. She worked in McConnelsville at Pollyanna’s for a few years before meeting her husband, James Madden. They married March 18, 1950. Violet was a housewife and enjoyed her flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking and farming with her husband for 66 years. She was a member of the Sonora United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, a sister Faye Bachelor; four children Harold (Malinda) Madden, Don (Brenda) Madden, Linda (Kevin) McKenna and Ron (Kim) Madden. She also has nine grandchildren Martie Dusenbery, James Madden, Carolyn Baker, Kelly Madden, Matt Madden, Michelle McKenna, Caleb Madden, Jacob Madden and Mikala Madden; two step great grandchildren Blaize and Blandon Baker; nine great grandchildren Ethan, Aidan, Ian, Evan, Owan, Aaran, Ashtan Dusenbery along with Alyssia Madden and Gunner Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Eva Mae (Knox) Brothers; two brothers Herbert and John Brothers; one sister Ruth Ann Staats; and one grandchild Jessie May Madden.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Sunday, July 10th at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, July 11th in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating. Burial to follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
