Wright Murder Trial Finishes 2nd Day

Testimony continues in the murder trial of Dale Wright who is charged with the death of his 5 month old son Dash. As the defense  attempts to place doubt in the mind of jurors.

In testimony Tuesday morning Rosemary Elson, Dash’s mother was called to the stand by the prosecution. Assistant Prosecutor Ron Welch brought up during examination the fact that Wright’s defense attorney seemed to be implying that she could have caused Dash’s injuries. In fact, Wright called Rosemary from jail Monday night said she should be happy the jury is considering her as possible suspect. In court, Tuesday, she said she’s okay with being the opportunity to allow doubt.

In her testimony she also said that the morning of August 2nd Dash was normal, healthy and playful. And she said she never harmed her son.

A doctor from Genesis testified that a CatScan revealed an old and new bleed in the brain along with a skull fracture that could only be caused by significant trauma and not a short fall.

"The American Academy of Peditricians has a statement in regards to falls of less than four feet in height," explained ER Physician Dr. Robert McCoy. "The likelyhood of significant injury to a child is less than one in a million."

Testifying in the case Tuesday afternoon was Dr. Kenneth Geiston from the Franklin County Coroner’s office and Dr. Farrah Brink from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

They both said that after suffering trauma as Dash had he wouldn’t have been playful and that it would have taken a fall from several stories or a car accident.

The trail of Dale Wright continues Wednesday.
