Community Members Standing United and Coming Together for the Flood Victims

ZANESVILLE, OH – Community members are coming together to help out the victims of the recent storms and flooding.
After the first round of storms and damage came through, the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties teamed up with North Valley Bank to begin collecting donations.
What began as something small has branched out to the 5 North Valley locations has grown into hundreds of donations. Now it’s time to pick up those items and get them to those who need them the most.
“Two semi trucks, out of the generosity of Walmart, are going down to Perry County.” Tracey Ballas, the CEO of the United Way of MPM, said. “In addition, we’ve been partnering with North Valley Bank, they’ve used all 5 of their Branches for drop off points, we are gathering up those items as well as from First Christian Church, to have donations to take to South Zanesville to the Roseville area to help the Muskingum County folks who have been affected as well.”
Water, cleaning supplies, non-perishable foods, and diapers were among some of the items collected at the North Valley Branches.
Genesis Healthcare System also helped to play a part by donating $10,000 to the United Way’s Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
“We’re so happy at Genesis to be able to partner with the United Way because they know who and where to bring the items that we’ve collected and the money that we are bringing here today.” Kelley Daspit, the Director of Marketing & Public Relations with Genesis, said. “They’ll be able to get it to the flood victims and it’s a great community, pulling together. We feel really excited to be a part of it.”
