Zanesville Community Theater Presents Cheaper by the Dozen

Sunday marked the sixth and final performance of Cheaper by the Dozen at the Zanesville Community Theater.
For the past two weeks actors and actresses of all ages graced the stage, and after the matinee today the show celebrated its final curtain call.
Cheaper by the Dozen sold out several times over the past couple weeks. The show’s director, Valerie Gahagan feels that sell-outs are very encouraging for young performers in the shows, given that the majority of this cast is made up of kids between the ages of five and eighteen. Gahagan appreciates all of the support from the Zanesville community.
"It’s great. It’s fun to see them come in and laugh and enjoy their evening or their afternoon and walk away with a smile on their face,"Gahagan said.
Gahagan also feels that going to a live theater performance is a very different experience than just simply going to see a movie.
"There’s nothing like live theater," Gahagan said. "It’s different than walking into to Cinemark and seeing the same show four or five times. You can come here six times and see six different shows because live theater is always full of the unexpected."
The next community theater performance will be Agatha Christie’s The Hollow. The play will run the first two weekends in November. For more information or to buy tickets you can visit the theater’s website at http://zct.org/.
