Wounded Warriors Poker Run

The Wounded Warriors Poker Run made a stop in Duncan Falls Saturday.
Registration for the motorcycle ride begain at eleven in the morning. Nearly 80 bikes participated in the Poker Run. For just $10 a single rider had the chance at winning $500 if they got the best poker had after a single five card draw.
But the main fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project was the auction at the end of the ride. Rich Davis of Sagle Auto Electric explained why he felt it necessary to be a sponsor.
"The whole idea behind this is to help our war heroes that have been wounded in the war and the battles that we fight," Davis said. "This is to help raise funds to give them opportunities they normally don’t have since they’re injured."
Along with the Poker Run, sponsors donated items to be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the national Wounded Warriors Project. Davis said he came on as a sponsor because he feels it is necessary to help those who served in the armed forces.
"For me it’s just the satisfaction knowing that I’ve helped someone that helped me with the freedoms that we have here in this country," Davis said. "That’s what this is about."
