ZANESVILLE, OH – A Nashville singer and songwriter has a new patriotic single out!

Adam Calvert’s “Freedom Feels Like That” dropped at midnight and it’s his very first patriotic song.

The Guernsey County native will be at the Downtown Arena in Cambridge on Saturday night at 8PM for a release party to celebrate the single.

“[We’re] Very excited to incorporate that into the show and we’re going to do something really neat with our live show with that song.” Calvert said. “We’ll actually get vets on stage with a back drop that’s a parachute, it’s an actual D1 parachute, so we’ll incorporate that song with that live show, so it’s going to be really fun.”

Calvert says the inspiration for the song came from a neighbor of his sharing stories of his time being a PJ Paratrooper, which he explained are the brave men and women who head behind enemy lines.

He says he didn’t know much about PJ Paratrooper before his neighbor but after many talks, Calvert was inspired to create a song for the veterans who have served and who are continuing to serve.

“It’s really neat and that’s what I try to do with most of my songs, you know, I try to encompass people’s lives, whether they’re still with us, like I have a song about my uncle called “Silver Silverado” and it’s about his truck.” Calvert said. “And so this song, to be able to not just celebrate vets, but celebrate his life and what he’s accomplished is really special too.”

The Downtown Arena is located at 1005 Wheeling Ave. in Cambridge.
